IMPORTANT: We need to know what Nationality you are to comply with new security rules at the station and we need this detail before Sunday 8th October. So please email [email protected], with the ticket holders name and nationality. There is important info contained in the section below to enable you to attend the shoot, which will be different at every venue and date.  You must ensure you check this page periodically and before setting out on your journey as important info can be posted prior to the event starting.

Don't Forget

  • To bring your ticket with you for us to scan.
  • Your Hi-Viz clothing.
  • UK valid photographic ID. (UK Passport or driving licence)
     
  • Do not forget any of these as you will not be permitted entry without them and will not receive a refund.

The timings for the event are as follows:

  • 1630-1730: Arrival at the Little Yeo car park, Coach transport from the car park to the Navy Wings Heritage Centre
  • 1730: Last Coach departs - No admittance after this time.
  • 1800: Airside access begins after safety briefing.
  • 2030: Event finishes
  • 2030: Coach transport from the Navy Wings Heritage Centre to the car park.

Little Yeo Carpark

Directions to the Little Yeo Carpark


Parking will be available from 1630 in the Little Yeo Car Park.


DO NOT park within the Fleet Air Arm Museum site as you risk your vehicle being locked in.

We cannot be held responsible for any vehicles which may become trapped on the FAAM site overnight. The entrance to Little Yeo Carpark is opposite the Museum carpark.


Travelling EAST on the B3151 from Ilchester:

Approach the crossroads at which the Fleet Air Arm Museum is signposted right, TURN LEFT. Having turned left, the Little Yeo car park is accessed by the first left after the old gatehouse.



Travelling WEST, on the B3151 from Sparkford:

Follow signs for the Fleet Air Arm Museum until approaching the crossroads at which the Fleet Air Arm museum is signposted left. At the crossroads, TURN RIGHT. The Little Yeo car park can be found by taking the first left after you have passed the old gatehouse.

What Happens

In order to get from the car park, a coach has been hired for the evening, it will make several trips to the Hangar. The last coach will depart at 1730

You will need to present your booking email, either as a physical copy or on a mobile device, along with photo ID a to a member of Threshold.aero staff prior to boarding the coach.


Please note that aircraft participation is subject to weather and serviceability.

  • Westland Wasp

We also reserve the right to cancel the event due to inclement weather (However this is extremely unlikely). If a cancellation due to the weather is deemed necessary, you will receive an email the evening before.

Description Title

Where we have announced engine runs, please bring your own ear protection, we may have limited munbers of foam plugs we can give out but this can't be guaranteed.


Please bring your own torch/head torch to help you see in the dark areas especially on grass.


We recommend the use of tripod leg lights or illuminous bands, these help when moving position, so as not to knock over any equipment.

Tripod and Shutter Release

Don't worry if you haven't got a remote shutter release, using the camera's self-timer works just as well.

Expert Team

Should you be struggling, then a member of Threshold.aero staff may be able to give you some tips and advice.

Wide angle Lens

A lens of around 18mm wide (1.5x) or 24mm 
(full frame).
